Layers of Trauma: A Recorded Session Analysis | Ava Rose LCSW & Pat Ogden PhD

In this presentation of a recorded Zoom therapy session, Pat is the therapist, and Ava Rose, certified SP, and method actor, portrays one of her own clients.

The client, “Ellen,” has a history of recent and past sexual abuse, as well as intergenerational trauma, being the granddaughter of a holocaust survivor. 

This session primarily demonstrates working with sensorimotor sequencing of arousal and active defense and also shows reinstating active defense.  During the session, layers of trauma emerge, including past, recent, and trans-generational. 

We demonstrate how to work with the effects of these traumas as they emerge by staying focused on the organization of experience and guiding the session through the stages of the process.  We will show the entire session, stopping frequently to analyze interventions and approaches illustrated in this recording.
