Level 2: SP for Developmental & Relational Injury - What it Covers
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy engages the body’s innate wisdom for healing and growth.
Developmental and relational injuries shape body organization, emotions, and beliefs, Level 2 integrates bottom-up and top-down processing to address adaptations that emerge in relationships, from early adversity and attachment disruption to sociocultural, oppressive, and transgenerational influences.
In Level 2, you will:
- Map developmental & relational patterns and identify adaptive strategies that once protected but now limit connection and participation in life.
- Work skillfully with implicit memory, meaning-making, and parts of the self to transform painful emotions and unresolved grief/loss.
- Evaluate and build resources for affect tolerance, embodied expression, and relational safety.
- Contextualize injuries within personal, familial, cultural, collective, and transgenerational lenses.
- Use the therapeutic relationship as a primary avenue for repair.
Gain L2 skills in case formulation and greater flexibility with presentations that include depression, anxiety, hypervigilance, somatic complaints, addiction, and other symptoms rooted in adverse relational experiences.
