Bridging Parts and Body: SP & IFS in Dialogue

In this session, Esther Perez will explore how Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) can be integrated to address trauma, attachment wounds, and relational patterns. Through clinical examples, experiential elements, and video demonstrations, participants will:
- Examine the shared foundations and distinct contributions of IFS and SP
- Explore how each model engages parts, somatic experience, and attachment repair
- Learn practical ways to combine body-based and parts-based interventions
- Build skills for attuned work with adaptive strategies and developmental wounds

Tony Buckley will guide participants in clarifying the distinctions between sensory processes, interoception, proprioception, and emotion—helping refine the timing and focus of interventions. We’ll explore how emotional systems and activation interact with movement and motivation, shaping responses to trauma and developmental patterns of approach and avoidance.
